Our desire to participate in humanitarian endeavors is very strong. When La Bean Coffee was launched we were eagerly looking to align with organizations who promote fairness and do humanitarian work. What we discovered was that most of these organizations were business themselves and as a result had to pay salaries (and for some org’s quite hefty salaries) cover office rent etc and then after diluting our contribution to satisfy their overhead they then weren’t always as transparent as we would have liked. So, we started “La Bean Cares”, our initiative to participate directly in accomplishing our own internal humanitarian goals.

We donate coffee regularly to food banks and food pantries all throughout the Northeast. This gives us the confidence of knowing exactly how and where our efforts are being utilized. Recently we connected with WhyHunger.org whose goals are very inspiring. They have helped us to find new ways to help play our part in the fight against hunger.  I highly encourage you to check them out.  Below is a list of organizations we have contributed to along with their websites.
